Ikea Legs
For KTK. Craft to Go, Kitt.Ta.Khon reimagines furniture components as vessels for craft. Using IKEA’s universally available ADILS legs as a shared foundation, each piece is “Kitt.Ta.Khonified” through handwork, pattern, and collaboration. Legs are wrapped in the brand’s signature rope techniques and colourways, while selected designs reinterpret the iconic Hula motif — inspired by the movement of Hawaiian dancers’ skirts and constructed using techniques derived from palm-leaf roofing, executed with hand-curled recycled plastic strips. The collection also introduces legs inspired by classic sawhorse designs, allowing users to create their own tables by pairing the legs with any tabletop of choice.
Developed intentionally with Kitt.Ta.Khon’s long-standing weaving community in Chiang Rai and its beader in Phuket, this project pushes collaborators beyond small-scale objects and into furniture for the first time — expanding their skills into larger works with greater value and earning potential. Traditional decorative broomstick-making techniques are adapted into playful furniture elements, including the tongue-in-cheek Sexy Legs, while fully beaded legs translate Kitt.Ta.Khon’s signature stripe pattern into two bold colourways.
The collection also introduces drawer pulls and handles — small, DIY-able parts designed to be easily carried and installed anywhere, allowing users to Kitt.Ta.Khonify IKEA pieces, second-hand finds, or existing furniture. Conceived as an evolving body of work, new designs and collaborations will continue to be added as Kitt.Ta.Khon develops alongside its craft communities, enabling craft to travel globally without compromising its soul.
